Seafibre and Minerals for skin and bones

Many people ask us about our research on psoriasis and which SeaFibre product to take. Psoriasis is not just skin deep. Supporting your skin from the inside out by combining gut-healing seaweed with nutrients that many people unknowingly lack. Here’s why that matters. Psoriasis is a complex inflammatory skin condition, and our clinical research focused on the benefits of our unique Phychondrin™ extract in SeaFibre, showing measurable improvements through shifts in the gut microbiome, reductions in inflammatory cytokine markers, and cascading benefits for skin health.

While Phychondrin™ shows remarkable effects on this health cascade, we also recognise that there is rarely just one cause—and never only one solution. That’s why we developed a broader SeaFibre range with complementary ingredients that address common nutritional gaps which can hold people back from achieving optimal health. Calcium and other key minerals are part of this picture, especially when it comes to bone and skin health, including conditions like psoriasis.

Psoriasis is a complex health condition, and while it's not caused by nutrient deficiencies alone, there's growing evidence that certain nutrient imbalances can make it worse—or at least slow recovery. That’s why we’ve formulated our SeaFibre + Calcium supplement with the full picture in mind.

🦴 Why Calcium?

While calcium deficiency is not a direct cause of psoriasis, many people with inflammatory conditions have inadequate calcium intake, often without knowing it. In our own clinical study, 40% of participants fell short of the Estimated Average Requirement (EAR) for calcium through diet alone. This mirrors global nutrition surveys, where up to 50% of adults fail to meet calcium recommendations, especially women, the elderly, and people with dietary restrictions.

In psoriasis, vitamin D deficiency is more directly implicated—but since vitamin D is critical for calcium absorption and immune modulation, ensuring both nutrients are present is a smart strategy.

🪨 Why Oyster Shell Calcium?

We use natural calcium carbonate from purified oyster shells for gentle, bioavailable support—paired with our SeaFibre, a clinically tested seaweed extract rich in gut-regulating fibres and trace minerals.

🌿 What makes SeaFibre special?

SeaFibre isn’t just a fibre—it’s a mineral matrix, and here's how that supports whole-body balance:

  • Magnesium: 1800 mg/100g
→ At 2g per day, this provides 36 mg magnesium, which helps counterbalance calcium, aids nerve and muscle function, and supports stress resilience—all relevant for skin health and inflammation.

  • Boron: 18 mg/100g
→ At 2g per day, you get 0.36 mg boron, a trace mineral that helps preserve vitamin D stores, support bone metabolism, and may even modulate inflammatory cytokines. Boron is increasingly limited in soils and crops due to intensive agriculture.

  • Calcium (added): 10,000 mg/100g
→ Provides 200 mg per serve, enough to boost dietary intake without exceeding safe limits, especially helpful when calcium intake is suboptimal.

⚖️ Why the balance matters

Calcium alone isn’t the answer—it’s how it’s balanced with other nutrients that counts. Our formulation mirrors natural ecosystems: calcium, magnesium, boron, fibre, and trace elements all working together. This synergy supports:

  • Healthy skin barrier function

  • Immune balance and inflammation modulation

  • Vitamin D metabolism and mineral absorption

  • A happy gut microbiome, increasingly linked to skin health via the gut-skin axis
