At PhycoHealth, we’ve always believed in the power of the ocean to transform health and wellbeing. Now, in collaboration with Bardi Jawi woman Rosanna Angus, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, and as partners of the Marine Bioproducts CRC, we are proud to host Rosanna's new skincare range LANJE — skincare that is as unique as the Australian coastline itself.
LANJE is born from Rosanna’s ocean dream — her vision to bring First Nations knowledge and culture into a new generation of marine bioproducts. Together, we’ve combined Phyaluronic™ seaweed extract from our NSW farms with the purity of pearl oyster and native black rock oyster shells from Cygnet Bay, and Broome in Western Australia. The result is a skincare range that brings the gifts of tide and reef into everyday care, blending science, sustainability, and cultural wisdom.
More than Skin Deep
While this is an exciting new range for daily skin health, LANJE is also the beginning of something even greater. Through this collaboration, we are embarking on research that reaches far beyond the beauty counter — tackling some of the most pressing health challenges faced by First Nations communities.
In some remote communities, skin infection rates can be as high as 50%, particularly among children. These preventable conditions don’t just affect health; they also impact learning, confidence, and future opportunities. By combining cultural knowledge with marine science, we aim to explore new ways of preventing, managing, and treating these conditions using native bioactives from Australia’s oceans.
A Partnership Across the Great Southern Land
From the tides of the Kimberley to the seaweed farms of the NSW South Coast, this east-to-west collaboration is more than a product launch — it’s a partnership for progress. Together, we are showing what’s possible when cultural knowledge, marine science, and industry innovation come together in respect and purpose.
The launch of LANJE at the Marine Bioproducts CRC BioConnect event in Brisbane marks the start of this journey. It is just the first wave of what we know will be a tide of change — for healthier skin, healthier communities, and a healthier planet.
