Easy Mediterranean Pasta Salad - blue zone food

Easy Mediterranean Pasta Salad - blue zone food

You have probably heard a bit about the blue zone lately. The blue zone is all about an approach to eating, let's please not call it "a diet", that tries to get us back to the basics of clean simple and complete food. It is just a way of giving us focus and clarity on the importance of good food, mostly plants, and add some blue (or green seaweed in this case).
It is about getting back to the joy of eating - the flavours, the aromas, seeing the life in the food that supports us, and knowing that eating this way will simply cover the essentials of the nutrition that we need for the best life we can live.
Our Easy Mediterranean Pasta Salad can be served hot or cold, day or night! For variation, serve with different sides like Phukka or feta. Transport your tastebuds to blue!
You can prepare a large base, keep it refrigerated and add a different condiment each day for variation of work lunches. The resistant starch in the cold pasta is good for your gut, alongside the amazing SeaFibre in our seaweed. Read more about nutrition in our Seaweed Pastas here.

  • Boil pasta until al dente - approximately 6 mins, drain and let cool.
  • Drain the chickpeas.
  • Slice the cherry tomatoes.
  • Toss all ingredients together, and then garnish or add your condiments of choice. We LOVE adding lashings of Phukka which is rich in protein and anti-oxidants. Other ingredients we love to use are feta cheese for some extra calcium, roasted vegetables and olives for anti-oxidants, and walnuts for added Omega-3.
  • Enjoy!

This is the dish and Sea Spirals pasta was created for and served at the BBC World Changing Ideas Summit that we presented at back in 2016.
